The keyblade is a weapon of great power appearing to defeat the darkness of the Heartless. This was the first keyblade aquired by Sora from Destiny Islands in his time of need later Sora aquired better keyblades but always had his original in heart. Although later on it was found that the keyblade could also be weilded by Riku over Sora but only because he had a stronger heart. This is not one of the stronger keyblades but definetly the first and most defensive. This keyblade came in the name of light to defend and lock the keyholes of all the worlds and chooses its wielder by the strength of their hearts and the goodness within. These traits were found best in sora and riku so it kind of chose both of them
